Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Metro Bridge at Winter Twilight
«Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Metro Bridge at Winter Twilight»

The view on the building of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Smolensky Metro Bridge over the frozen Moskva-Reka (Moscow River) at winter twilight from Italian restaurant “Bona” at 29th floor of hotel Radisson Royal (former hotel Ukraine). The air temperature in Moscow was about minus 15 degrees Celsius (plus 5 Fahrenheit) on the second day of the new 2016 year.

The building of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia is one of seven Stalinist high-rises built in Moscow after WWII (1948-1953). The skyscraper has 27 levels and is 172 meters (564 ft) tall. Smolensky Metro Bridge is a steel arch bridge that spans Moskva River in Dorogomilovo District of Moscow. It is the first bridge built for the Moscow Metro in 1935–1937, designed by N.P.Polikarpov, P.K.Antonov (structural engineering) and Yakovlev brothers (architectural design).
