Night View from observation deck of the illuminated Cathedral of St. Demetrius in Vladimir in winter evening. The church is a unique white-stone monument architecture of Vladimir-Suzdal land of the pre-Mongol period. It was constructed in 12th century by Prince Vsevolod the Big Nest and sanctified in the name of St. Demetrius of Salonika (Greek Saint). The church became famous for its white stone reliefs. Despite the small size of the building, the elaborate stone carving gives it the grandeur and monumentality. There are over 1000 reliefs on the facade of the cathedral.
