Stunning view from a distance on the main and the one of the most ancient churches in Russia, Dormition (Assumption) cathedral in Vladimir that was constructed in 1158-1160 and rebuilt after the major fire in the city in 1185. It is classic work of early Russian architecture that served as a model for the cathedral of the same name in Moscow Kremlin.

In Front of the Gilded Gates of Granovitaya Chamber

Memory photo of my dear clients from USA, Jeffrie and Harry van Loveren in front of the gilded entrance gates of Granovitaya Palata (Faceted Chamber) served as the official throne room for Grand Princes of Moscow and Russian Tsars. It was built in the reign of Ivan III The Great in 1487-1491 by design of the Italian architects Marco Ruffo and Pietro Salari.
