Chapel over the Well was built in front of Cathedral of Assumption in Holy Trinity - St. Sergius Lavra at the end of 17th century over the holy spring, which shot up during the repair of the porch of the cathedral in 1644. Many pilgrims were cured by this water, and people took it to the sick to heal them.
