«Panorama of the Most Ancient Stone Church of Old Russia»
Excellent panorama view of the cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Christ in Pereslavl-Zalessky from rampart, that was part of fortification of old kremlin in the city. It is the oldest cathedral of pre-Mongol Rus (Old Russia), the great monument of Vladimir-Suzdal architecture, that survived to present time without significant damage. The Christ Transfiguration church was built from stone on the Red Square, the main square of Perslavl-Zallesky, between 1152 and 1157 years. The famous cathedral is located near birthplace of Alexander Nevsky (1220-1263), one of the most prominent Old Russian state leaders and generals. Throughout its lifetime, the church has submerged into the ground by approximately 1 meter.
