Church of the Forty Martyrs

The stone 18th century Church of the Forty Martyrs stands where the river Trubezh flows into the huge Plescheevo lake. It was constructed on the money of Moscow merchants Ivan and Maxim Schelyagins in 1755 on the site of two dilapidated wooden churches.
