Moscow By Night
Moscow city is beautiful at night. During this tour you will see a lot of famous places, buildings and streets. The illuminated architecture of the buildings are gourgeous when starting dark. All my clinets had only the BEST impressions from this tour and loved Moscow!
The old style Patriarchy Bridge over the Moscow-River (Moskva-Reka) was built in August 2004 and presently spans the Moscow River between the majestic Cathedral of Christ the Savior and Bersenevskaya Naberezhnaya.
The artistic decoration of the Bridge was provided by Russian Academy of Arts Professional Artistic Centre of Zurab Tsereteli and it is geometrically tied to the famous cathedral. The nicely made illumination, beautiful old style architecture and excellent location for viewing Moscow Kremlin, monument of Peter The Great and, of course, cathedral of Christ the Savior attract a lot of tourists at day or night time.
I took this picture at one early morning at the beginning of the New Year. I had to wake up very early that morning to see off my clients to the airport (back to US) and then I decided to make photo shooting at sunrise… It is not snow for a while in Moscow, but pretty cold during the first days of the new 2008 year (those night was about –16 C). When I was out of my car to try to take good pictures my fingers and feet were almost frozen as like the Moscow-River on the picture :-), but I was awarded several great pictures and one of them you can see already now.
PS: When I saw this ice I had a thought that it could be nice to skate there :-).
Lynn Grigsby Frieda forwarded your picture of the new bridge across the Moscow River. Very beautiful! Of course the bridge wasn't there when Lynn and I were in Moscow in late July of 1991, but your photo brings back many fond memories of our trip across Russia on the Siberian Express and our stay in Moscow at that time.
I'm attempting to keep up on my Russian by translating Russian literature. Currently I'm translating Chekhov's "Peasants." Also, I'm reading Nabokov's English translation of Pushkin's Eugene Onegin, and I have a copy of the poem in Russian, as well.
