Moscow at night - the famous monuments and towers on the Red Square. Here is some info about the details on this photo:

Foreground - Monuments:

Left side - monument to the Kozma Minin and Prince Dmitri Pozharsky, the heroes of the national struggle for liberation against the Swedish and Polish invaders in 1610-1612;

Right side: "Lobnoye Mesto" (literally "Frontal Place") is a circular white stone platform, located nearby St. Basil Cathedral. There are different hypotheses of its name origin. According to the most plausible of them, it was named Lobnoye Mesto while it was the highest point of the square. The platform was constructed in 1534 and in 1786 reconstructed by architect M. Kazakov, who added white stone facing and parapet. In the 16 - 18th centuries Lobnoye Mesto was the place where tsar's edicts and the sentences of convicted criminals were read out, where on holidays and important occasions tsars and priests addressed the people and where the heir to the throne was traditionally carried on his 14th birthday, so that the people could see their future Tsar and not allow an impostor to assume the throne.

Background - Kremlin walls and towers:

In the middle: Spasskaya (Saviour's) Tower - the most remarkable of all the Kremlin towers, built in 1491 under the supervision of Pietro Antonio Solari. The gate has for centuries been the main official entrance to the Kremlin. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Spassky (Saviour's) Gate was used for ceremonial processions made by the Czar and the Patriarch and for meeting foreign ambassadors.

From the left side of Spasskaya Tower you can see a small tower called "Tsar tower" - It owes its name to the legend that the tsars, Ivan the Terrible in particular, liked standing up here to watch the bouts of fisticuffs below (there is no documentary proof of these legends).
