Savinskaya embankment

Savinskaya embankment

This photo I took from a new pedestrian bridge, which was built over Moscow-River in 2002, from the side of Raddison Slavyanskaya Hotel and Kievsky Railway Station. This is view on the Savinskaya embankment, not so far from downtown of the city. You can see here intersting big curved apartment building with a green sign "Borodino". This building was built in Stalin times (all buildings which were built in the middle of 20th century, when Stalin was the leader of USSR, we call "Stalin's buildings", which is very expencive to rent or buy now a days). The name of this building "Borodino" - is the name of the field where was very important battle between French and Russian troops during the war with Napoleon 1812.

In the middle of this photo (background) you can also watch the tower of one of famous Seven Sisters, built by Stalin order at 1951 - This is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

All these buildings look very impressive and there are good examples of "Stalin Gothic" architecture, but all of them were built using slave labor of people.
